Have you ever seriously wondered why you set your alarm clock every day that rushes you out of your comfy, warm bed and beautiful dreams to get to work? We have. Not to get rich, because then we would have been better off going into crypto trading or real estate. You might not immediately expect it from network infrastructure specialists, but we are primarily about people.
Happy people
In 2007, Nordin Dkiyech and Rob Monseurs decided to get Cortexia off the ground. Combining their strengths, which they had amassed in employment and as entrepreneurs respectively, created a strong block in IT infrastructure, security, secondment and consultancy. The connection between the two partners was not only in their shared passion for the field, but also in their desire to put ‘people’ at the centre of their work. With the ultimate goal of making people happy. Not only customers, but also our employees. Of course, this can be done in many ways.
Respect and freedom
A surgeon also makes people happy, but that study took us too long. We want to see results quickly. And although we are not at all averse to good humour and regularly come up with our own funny lines, that does not make us a comedian or stand-up comedian. In our case, it is all about approaching people the way we want to be approached. With respect and freedom for the individual. Because that also makes us happy ourselves. For instance, we ourselves work with ‘development interviews’ instead of the often degrading ‘performance interviews’.
Focus on personal growth
At Cortexia, this translates into close contact throughout the year, a focus on development and indicating what you are going to do better instead of dwelling once a year on what went wrong and punishing that with a lower or no reward. For us, freedom also means that the jacket and tie we so reviled can stay at home from now on. Not a necklace indeed, but a nice touch. For Nordin, the death of his grandfather, who was also an entrepreneur and valued freedom to shape your own life, even accelerated the creation of Cortexia.
Result of our own efforts
So at Cortexia, we want above all to be able to be ourselves and face customers with an open mind. In addition, we see more direct results from our own efforts than before. This not only gives us more satisfaction, but also useful input to improve (even) further. And that is certainly crucial in the field of security. By staying ahead of hackers, we were recently able to fend off a serious DDoS attack for a customer in the medical sector. Naturally, this resulted in happy faces. Meanwhile, we are very proud of our services, projects and developments in our field.
Blogs
We like to keep you up to date with a series of blogs that are often serious, but occasionally thought-provoking or downright funny. So keep an eye on the website in the near future….
